Mirapex or pramipexole 0.25 mg 30 tablet, synonymously known as pramipexole dihydrochloride is a treatment used to treat restless leg syndrome (RLS) and Parkinson disorder. The former is caused by the failure of the nervous system. The latter affects body movement hence causing a decrease in motion, muscle rigidity, and posture instability. Stimulation of the dopamine receptors which are located in the striatum is responsible for signals being sent from the thalamus to the cortex cerebral and to the spinal cord. An individual suffering from Parkinson's disorder experiences degeneration of substantia nigra and pars compacta which consequently causes a reduction in dopamine production. Due to this, dopamine receptors are not well stimulated therefore decreasing the signals sent from the thalamus to the spinal cord and the cerebral cortex.
